Katherine Pekala is a photographer and visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Informed by her experience of double vision, her work explores the instability of perception, the body as a site of transformation, and the fragile boundaries between truth and illusion. Moving between analog processes and lo-fi moving images, she embraces distortion, fragmentation, and imperfection as ways of questioning what is real and what remains unseen. Her images exist in a state of becoming, occupying the space between presence and disappearance, rupture and reinvention, the tangible and the imagined. Rather than seeking resolution, her practice finds possibility in uncertainty — in the space between what was and what could be.
